I'm Rebecca, or Bec, or Becca - whatever's best for you! As long as it's not Becky, I'm not too fussy about my name. Nothing against the name Becky or anyone with that name, but I've just never been called Becky in my entire life so it's weird and annoying when people call me that!

I'm 16 and studying English, Media, Drama and Sociology at AS level. I live with my mum and 13 year old brother in East Yorkshire, England. I love where I live. At my college in Scunthorpe the place I live seems to have a bad reputation for being quite rough, but I know and love my hometown. I'll never properly leave, even if I move away when I'm older. It's not just my home; it's home to all the people I love most.

When I leave college I'd like to go to university and study journalism. Leeds is the place I have in mind right now. I don't know much about the courses there, I just love the city and the football team, and it's close to where I live so I can drive back home and see everyone at the weekend. Otherwise I'd get so homesick! I don't know how people cope with leaving home to study at the other end of the country, or even abroad.

I can't wait to go to university. Like my 6th form college, it'll be a new experience and a great opportunity to meet different people. I like to think of myself as approachable and friendly, and even though I used to be pretty shy, I've come out of my shell recently and will talk to almost anyone. I love to meet new people and am so glad I came to college instead of staying at my school's 6th form cos I've made so many new friends :-)

I've only ever had one boyfriend in my life and I was with him for two years, until I broke up with him in September 2003. At the beginning of my single life I thought, ‘yeah, a chance to enjoy being on my own’. But I ended up just feeling lonely and wanting someone to be with. But now I feel fine being on my own with the opportunity to have a good time without worrying about responsibilities and stuff. I've got a couple of people in my sights, who I'm sure you'll read about here, but nothing's happening at the moment so I may as well make the most of my single life while I can! I’ve recently made a fab new friend, Kelly. She’s so much like me it’s unbelievable and we have such a laugh together, just chatting and bitching! Now that I have such a good mate to hang around with instead of brooding over my single status, I feel I can properly enjoy myself.

I love coming online and catching up with my daily sites and LJ friends, and have done ever since I first discovered the blogging scene a few months ago. I have a journal here cos I find it’s good to be able to write things down and share them with other people. I have a diary that I write in at home every night which is obviously more personal, but this is different. I just enjoy being able to come online and write things down, whether other people want to read them or not.
